Editorial Standards

We sell hemp-derived THC drinks. We also publish guidance on dosing, safety, storage and law — subjects where being wrong has consequences beyond a returned order.

This page explains how that content gets made, so you can judge it.

Who writes it

Articles in our Learn section are written in-house by Jason Hurkmans, CEO and Managing Director of HempBeverages.com. The relevant experience is operational rather than clinical: we stock 30+ brands and more than 180 products, and reading certificates of analysis, comparing dose formats and tracking state-by-state law is the daily work of running this catalog.

Where an article states something about health, we don't rest on that experience. See below.

How we source

  • Primary sources first. Where a claim can be traced to the FDA, the CDC, NIAAA, a state health department or peer-reviewed literature, we cite that source and link it.
  • We name the study. Not "studies show" — the paper, the authors, the year.
  • We publish findings that don't suit us. A peer-reviewed review of cannabis beverages reports that infrequent consumers experience aversive effects, and that beverage labeling has been found inaccurate across the category. Both are on our pages, because leaving them off would make the pages less useful and less true.
  • We say when the evidence is thin. Research on cannabis beverages specifically is limited compared with research on smoked cannabis. Where the honest answer is "this is what people report and the mechanism is plausible, but it hasn't been measured at scale," we write that instead of dressing it up.

What we are not

Our articles are not medically reviewed, and nothing here is medical advice. We're telling you that directly rather than leaving it ambiguous.

What we do instead is cite primary sources for every health-related statement, so you can check the underlying claim yourself rather than taking ours on trust. Where a question is genuinely medical — whether a product is safe alongside your medication, your heart condition, or your pregnancy — the honest answer is that it's a question for your doctor, and we'll say so rather than answer it.

We don't make health claims for our products. We don't describe any drink as treating, curing or preventing anything. And we don't cite a source we haven't read.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, tell us at Enjoy@HempBeverages.com. We correct the page and update its modified date. Substantive corrections are noted on the article.

Lab testing

Every product we stock carries a third-party certificate of analysis, published at our COA library. We have no house label, so we have no product to defend against a bad result.
