The short version

Stir 1.5 oz Pamos Reserve Spirit with demerara syrup and two dashes of aromatic bitters over ice, strain onto one large cube, and express an orange peel over the top. 10mg THC.

The Old Fashioned survives because it is mostly ritual — the stir, the big cube, the oil from the peel. Take the whiskey out and the ritual still works, provided whatever replaces it can carry bitters. Pamos Reserve can; it is bold and botanical enough to stand up to two dashes and a bar-spoon of demerara. Stir it properly, twenty to thirty seconds, and it drinks like the real thing.

How to make it

  1. Add the Reserve, syrup, and bitters to a mixing glass with ice.
  2. Stir 20-30 seconds until well chilled.
  3. Strain over one large cube in a rocks glass.
  4. Express the orange peel over the top, then drop it in.
